I’ve always been a weekend automotive hobbyist and, not to toot my own horn, I thought I was a darn good one. I’ve been doing my own repair work for years, but then I made my first mistake by thinking I was a pro at working on rebuilt engines. I was planning a cross country trip in my 1974 Austin Mini Moke, which is a rare convertible Jeep- like vehicle. I thought it would be a fun time to take this toy from Florida to California.
I guess my first mistake was thinking it was a good idea to take a 1974 across the US. Everything on this thing was practically new, so I knew if I rebuilt the engine, we’d be in business.
I only made it an hour of the way and blew a head gasket. But I was so happy during the first hour that I couldn’t get the smile off my face! I had the top off and the wind was blowing freely through my hair. My wife and I were so excited to go on our adventure and, luckily, we had AAA, and they came and towed the vehicle in for us. The vehicle is still sitting in a shop in Orlando.
You may have thought this issue killed our fun and ended our trip, but the fact is, we’re in Monterey, California as I write this post. We try to keep a positive attitude and not let setbacks like this hold us from having a good time, so we rented a Mustang convertible and continued the trip.
As much as I wanted to stay back home and see what was going on with the Jeep, I haven’t even called the mechanic. I’m going to wait until I get back and get updated after the problems are repaired, and at least I went to an honest mechanic. My friend lives in Orlando and we’re all fixer- upper type of guys. I’m just a little green yet, but he has always been a wiz with engines.
Monterey has been nice and we’re staying right by the pier and just had a delicious dinner at Bennihana’s tonight. We’re going to the aquarium tomorrow and I guess the point of my story is, when life deals you lemons, make lemonade.

When it comes to IT consulting, Chicago needs . It doesn’t need IT providers that charge hidden fees or take deposits. It doesn’t need insufficient service that doesn’t stand up to its bill. Every cost should be itemized and explained upfront. While good IT service calls for some investment, it should be laid out clearly from the beginning. Working with the wrong IT support, Chicago can drown in concealed fees and added costs.
In fact, guarantees should be offered for quality computer service. Chicago businesses shouldn’t be left feeling disgruntled with a costly bill. Really, if your unsatisfied, you shouldn’t have to pay for your IT support. Chicago companies should only be required to pay their invoice when they’re completely happy.
Plus, you should be able to cancel at any time. Let your IT provider earn your trust and business one bill at a time. If you’re not satisfied, forget them. There are plenty of businesses that offer quality IT consulting. Chicago businesses merit service that works for them. It’s the requirements of the business.
IT providers should earn your long term service by making sure you are happy in the short term. They earn your business with every checkup. If you aren’t happy, you have the right to look somewhere else. Find excellence with the right computer service. Chicago companies may have to browse around until they find the perfect match.
Don’t hire an IT provider that contracts its work to other services. You don’t want just anyone lurking around your company. Ideally, you want the same worker who can bring his experience and knowledge to your company by getting to know your system intimately.
IT workers should have at least 6 years of experience. Don’t work with a company that hires fly by night contractors or hires people straight out of school. Experience is everything when it comes to IT providers. Find a company that ensures qualified staff. After all, they operate on the heartbeat of your organization.

The world is far from perfect. Mistakes can happen, and their consequences can be devastating, resulting in serious injury or even death. When somebody makes an error that seriously harms you or your loved ones, they deserve to be held accountable. A world without accountability is full of chaos and danger, leading to further accidents and the devastated lives of innocent people.
Doctors make mistakes. As many as 100,000 preventable deaths happen each year due to medical malpractice. The job of holding those accountable belong to the medical malpractice lawyer. Chicago is a safer city tonight because of accountability. It compels doctors to do their best, to heal the sick as best they can. The more we hold those who care for our sick, the safer and healthier the world will be.
If you need a medical malpractice lawyer, Chicago has many options, but you had better check their credentials. While high prices don’t always mean the best attorneys, experience is important, but only when it’s backed by a winning track record. Talent doesn’t belong to every lawyer, but it’s easy to check their case history to see how many they’ve won or lost.
Accountability is just as important in the trucking industry. As pressure is put on truck drivers to drive safe, our roads become safer thanks to a truck accident lawyer. Chicago accidents can be devastating for the victim as well as the families involved, and it’s easy to drown in hospital bills. Aside from needing something for the undeserved pain and anguish, victims of highway accidents have real financial reasons for winning a lawsuit. Often, the very state of their healthcare can depend on it.
Holding drivers accountable is the job of a good truck accident lawyer. Chicago has a long list, but only a few stand at the top. Again, a winning track record is just as important as experience. The right lawyer can mean an honest settlement for you and your family.

I run a housewares business, importing glasses and tiles from the Middle East and Mediterranean. Like most exports from the region destined for the eastern seaboard, most of my inventory makes it way through ports in New Jersey. To service my clients – mostly higher-end home design stores – I had to run LTL sized orders from my NJ warehouse to destinations all up and down the coast: from Portland, ME, to Miami, Florida. While my business is one built on solid markups, the cost of transportation sometimes ate as much as 1/3 of my gross margin.
I was astute enough to realize that I could use some assistance with logistics. I wasn’t sure exactly what sort of help I needed, but I was sure there had to be a better way to manage and deliver inventory more effectively – whether it was requiring my customers to order more, or storing it closer to them. On the recommendation of a friend who runs a paper business in New Jersey, I contacted Transport System Inc., basically to get their consultation on ways to reduce my freight shipping expenses overall.
After hours of free consultation and taking time to become familiar with my inventory and replenishment cycles, they were able to devise a somewhat decentralized solution that would allow me to deliver full trailer loads to other warehouses up and down the east coast, from which LTL sized orders could still be filled. This allowed me to serve my customers better, since I didn’t require them to wait until I could get a mostly full trailer to their area – and mine is not a high volume (by actual volume) business: tiles and glasses are small and expensive.
From a main NJ warehouse, inventory gets moved to satellite locations by the trailer load. With the help of an asset management solution that TSI implemented for me, I am now able to see my real-time inventory all up and down the coast, which allows me to plan my buying and importing much better. The net result is that I am actually holding the same quantity of inventory, but delivering it much faster (same day or overnight for most of the East Coast at no extra charge to customers), more reliably, and far more cost effectively. I also have new markets that have been opened up to my products by new capacity elsewhere – TSI has setup my logistics for a push into the Midwest / Chicago market with a warehouse.
For businesses who are finding that logistics eats into a lot of their high margins because they are forced to ship LTL or deliver customer orders same day or overnight, having the humility to enlist the help of logistics experts is crucial. I had that humility – I can brag about it now – and it truly paid off. I am thankful for my carrier and warehouse company’s expertise.
